Welcome to OpenMetaverse.
The metaverse is the entire set of virtual worlds. It is the goal of the Open Metaverse Foundation to make all these virtual worlds operate, share data and interact both transparently and openly. The fundamental premise of the Open Metaverse Foundation is that all people deserve a virtual world they can freely access and understand.
Our Role
The Open Metaverse Foundation will therefore conceive, design, release, organize, and support open technology that enables, extends, and distributes the metaverse as a whole, and interconnects all the constituent virtual worlds, open or closed, that comprise it.
Current focus is on the Second Life platform.

- libsecondlife Definitive Second Life client library C#. Open source under the revised BSD license.
- libprimrender A C# Prim library for rendering Second Life primitive objects.
- OSGrid Offers free grid services for many simulator operators to enable them to enjoy a shared connected space.
- AfterLife C++ Second Life server and libsecondlife C# proxy to allow "ghosting" into a Sim
